Job Description:
St. Peter the Apostle Catholic School is searching for a Development Director for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. This is a full time position with a Monday-Friday, 7:30 - 3:30, flexible schedule to accommodate meetings and special events.
The Development Director reports directly to the Principal and is responsible for collaborating and communicating with the development committee of the Board of Limited Jurisdiction. The Development Director is responsible for maintaining and growing relationships with donors and alumni, local businesses, and friends of St. Peter the Apostle School.
Core Responsibilities
● Work with the Principal to develop a yearly calendar of events and establish annual goals.
● Build a team/teams of volunteers to promote a culture of philanthropy and invest time and talent into various development initiatives.
● Build a donor database and assist in frequent communication with benefactors and alumni.
● Establish an effective annual fund.
● Process, record, and write acknowledgements for gifts received. Provide a report of gifts received for the principal on a monthly basis.
● Plan and execute a yearly fundraising event for benefactors and alumni.
Essential Functions
● Promote the mission of Saint Peter the Apostle School.
● Develop a strategic long-term plan for development.
● Develop and oversee an active alumni group.
● Draft and publish social media content and email communications related to development initiatives and alumni activities.
● Assist the Principal in communications with benefactors.
● Maintain and/or supervise school records and mailing lists including enrollment as it pertains to parents as benefactors and students as future alumni. All sensitive information must be treated in a confidential and secure manner.
● Work with the school board to set and achieve goals and objectives.
● Work to establish an endowment.
● Promote giving to capital projects and special initiatives.
● Promote participation in the EITC program.
● Maintain positive and productive relationships with parents, donors, parishioners, and other friends of Saint Peter the Apostle School.
● Duties and responsibilities as needed and assigned by the school Principal.
Skills:
● Practicing Catholic who is passionate about Catholic education.
● Bachelor's degree in a related field.
● Experience in development
● Superior ability in social media and written communication
● Able to effectively communicate as a speaker in large groups.
● Willingness to work occasional nights and weekends.
● Energized by new initiatives and programs.
● Able to strategize, plan, and implement new development initiatives.
